Miriam Paulsen of Tschau Tschüssi

Girls Can Blog is not only a fan of female bloggers, but also of female entrepreneurs. Even more so, of course, when they blog.

On this note, I'd like to introduce Miriam Paulsen and her blog Tschau Tschüssi.

Follow the jump below to find out about Miriam's business, why coming up with new ideas ain't easy these days, and why she rarely uses Twitter.

What's your name, how old are you, and what do you do for a living (or all day, for that matter)?

Hello. My name is Miriam Paulsen, I'm 31 years old and have a small shop for self made things, one of a kinds and very small editions in Leipzig, called TSCHAU TSCHÜSSI ["BYE BYE-Y"].

How long have you been blogging? How did you get around to blogging?

I've been blogging since the fall of 2008. The big advantage at the time was being able to update the website regularly. Plus remembering things you've lived through and done ages ago ain't always easy, so the blog is both virtual memory and digital archive.

What's your blog called and why?

My blog is called like the shop.

What are you blogging about? Why?

I introduce new products on the blog, advertise events, present net finds. Very dear to my heart is a series called "ARBEITSPLATZ" ["WORKSPACE"], that I've started as a small exhibition when the shop turned two, and that has been continued online. It introduces the people who sell their work at TSCHAU TSCHÜSSI, their desks, their studios, creative spaces. Recently I've been adding short interviews that introduce the artist and their WORKSPACE in more detail.

Who's your target audience?

Whew, there's no specific target audience. I suppose I could find out who my readers are, but I'd be lying if I said I made up my mind about them in advance.

Who designed your blog? How much was that? In case you designed your own layout: Where did you learn how to?

I did. With Blogger.com and some HTML it was easy. I couldn't make anything look a certain way, though. I just play around until I like what I see.

Which software and which host do you use? Can you recommend them?

See above.

What role play photos, MP3-files or video clips on your blog? If you use them, would you mind showing us one?

Photos play the biggest role. I usually take them with my old digital camera, which is why they aren't that great, but all in all I'm okay.

This picture here I like a lot, it was taken by Iska Kaek:

How many readers do you have? How many would you like to have? Does their number matter to you at all?

According to Google I've got 84 followers. Is there a way to see more somewhere else? ;) Of course it's more fun when you've got more than two readers. More important I find comments - which are sparse, unfortunately.

Can you learn how to blog? Do you need to know a lot about computers? Do you have any advice for beginners?

Sure you can learn how to blog. Just try it!

Have you made negative experiences with blogging, too? What kind?

Nah, not really. As a rule one should try not to sell others' ideas as one's own. That's tricky sometimes, as it seems it's all been there before.

Do you use twitter, too? Why (not)? What pros and cons do you see when it comes to twitter?

I have a Twitter account, but barely use it. I'm not quite sure even what to tweet besides: "Look, I posted a new entry on my blog!"

Which other female bloggers can you recommend? Why?

Angie's blog http://superduper.co.za/lucky/ - it's got everything, music, too, things that make you laugh and wonder

Lazy Jane http://lzyjn.com/blog/ - Rabbit loves Charlie!

http://mauerblumen.blogspot.com/ - Green thumb up! I like!

Wieviele Leser hast Du? Wieviele hättest Du gerne? Ist das überhaupt wichtig für Dich?
Also laut Google-Follow-Anzeige 84.

Welche(n) anderen frauengeführten Blogs kannst Du empfehlen? Warum?
Angies Blog http://superduper.co.za/lucky/ - Alles drin, Musik och, kannste staunen und lachen.

Lazy Jane http://lzyjn.com/blog/ - Hase liebt Charlie!

http://mauerblumen.blogspot.com/ - Grüner Daumen hoch! Gefällt mir!
